The amazing Elephant in the Room exhibition continues at The Point arts centre on South Parade. Open Monday – Friday. Admission free.

The Kabul to Kandahar, Doncaster Camera Club and Doncaster Sporting Clubs exhibitions continue at Doncaster Museum & Art Gallery on Chequer Road. Open Monday – Saturday. Admission Free.

7.30pm Open Night at Doncaster Little Theatre on King Street. A social evening for anyone interested in finding out a bit more about what goes on at this great venue. Free.
 

TUESDAY 12

9.00am – 4.00pm Full Market Day at Doncaster Markets (some stalls open much earlier!)

Exhibition of paintings by Bryan Day at Brevon Art on Thorne Road near Christ Church. Open Tuesday – Saturday and also Sunday afternoon. Admission free.

10.00am ‘Circus Circus’ craft workshop with Which Craft? upstairs in the Corn Exchange.

7.30pm Jez Lowe’s ‘Songs of the Radio Ballads’ at Doncaster Civic Theatre on Waterdale. Tickets £10 (£8 concessions).

7.30pm An evening with writer and documentary maker Jon Ronson at Doncaster Little Theatre. Tickets £10 (£8 concessions).

12.00 noon Doncaster’s noisy Town Crier delivers his weekly proclamation at Clock Corner – and in one or two other places!

The Vintage Rock Bar on St.George’s Gate host a metal all-dayer featuring live sets by a dozen bands. Details TBA.

8.00pm Punk bands Random Hand + Anti Vigilante have a gig at the Leopard on West Street tonight. Admission £8.

Free parking in all Council-run car parks all day today – including Chappell Drive, Church Way, St. Georges, New Markets, Horsefair and Wood Street.

12.00 noon – 4.00pm Exhibition of paintings by Bryan Day at Brevon Art on Thorne Road near Christ Church open this afternoon.

8.00pm Nigel Clarke (former bass playing vocalist with Dodgy) plays live at the Leopard on West Street tonight. Admission £5.
 

LOOKING AHEAD…

Tuesday 19 sees the start of the Garage Bar’s Battle of the Bands, Wednesday 20 sees the return of the fortnightly Farmers Market on Goose Hill and an evening heritage walk from the TIC. Thursday sees the legendary Kenny Ball & his Jazzmen visit the Civic Theatre. Friday has a free lunchtime organ recital at the Minster, no fewer than seven live bands at the Vintage Rock Bar and Guns or Roses playing at the Leopard. Saturday 20 boasts a film festival at the Little Theatre, a 20th anniversary gig by Tobias at the Hallcross, the Hummingbirds Blues Band at Cask Corner, Hostage Rescue Team + support at the VRB and Doyle & the Fourfathers at the Leopard.
