A temporary break

Hi everyone,
As your humble blog publisher is currently out of the country, What's Happening in Donny? will be taking a 9 month hiatus. We hope you can get all the information you need about the best goings-ons in the borough from elsewhere. Until summer 2013!
Ben

23/07/12 to 28/07/12 - John Godber's Bouncers @ Little Theatre

BOUNCERS - Doncaster Little Theatre
23-38 July, 7.30pm

Blackadder Goes Forth has been cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances.
Doncaster Little Theatre is delighted to present John Godber's Bouncers in its place.

Ladies and Gentlemen... come and be transported to a night on the tiles the way it used to be.

Our four brutish doormen will guide you through a vision of the eighties urban night life, to stag nights and hen dos, to drunken crying girls and gallons of booze.

It's celebration time - come on!

Our superbly versatile cast of only 4 will represent over 20 different characters, from lads on the pull, girls dancing around their handbags, punks, yuppies and many more.

Featuring a soundtrack of 1980s favourites this show promises to be the sensation of the summer.

04/08/12 - MAPFest in Doncaster

MAPFEST is a collaboration of Doncaster town centre’s live music venues in association with the town’s media outlets and various individuals passionate about the live music scene in our town.

Created to promote the diverse and vibrant music scene the town has to offer, across all styles and genres, our initial ideas were to provide a predominantly free live music festival, with all parties giving their time, effort and commitment voluntarily.

During our early meetings the outcome was to create a Festival Guide based around a map of all participating venues, hence the name MAPFEST…Music And People is exactly what we're about! Each venue will be hosting a stage dedicated to a specific genre, demonstrating the variety & diversity there is throughout Doncaster…It's all about the music!

With the help of Doncaster Council, Doncaster Tourism, Say Yes To Arts, Sine FM and Doncaster Free Press, all providing their backing free of charge, we aim to provide not only a fantastic festival, but one that you’ll remember forever!
