04/08/12 - MAPFest in Doncaster
MAPFEST is a collaboration of Doncaster town centre’s live music venues in association with the town’s media outlets and various individuals passionate about the live music scene in our town.
Created to promote the diverse and vibrant music scene the town has to offer, across all styles and genres, our initial ideas were to provide a predominantly free live music festival, with all parties giving their time, effort and commitment voluntarily.
During our early meetings the outcome was to create a Festival Guide based around a map of all participating venues, hence the name MAPFEST…Music And People is exactly what we're about! Each venue will be hosting a stage dedicated to a specific genre, demonstrating the variety & diversity there is throughout Doncaster…It's all about the music!
With the help of Doncaster Council, Doncaster Tourism, Say Yes To Arts, Sine FM and Doncaster Free Press, all providing their backing free of charge, we aim to provide not only a fantastic festival, but one that you’ll remember forever!
